Keen to get on the handstand journey but not sure where to start? This workshop will give you a solid foundation in what you need to know about alignment, balance, specific strength and handstand flexibility.
Working with mobility, flexibility and drills, this class will work from the ground up, preparing the body for handstand and taking you through exercises that help you understand what it feels like to be in a handstand with drills and tips on getting upside down. We’ll use the wall and props for support.
When starting the handstand journey it’s likely that you’ll be more proficient one area (alignment, balance, flexibility or strength) and we can start to identify areas that will be good for you to work on and progress, this is different for everybody!
About me, I’m Shell, I've been teaching handstands for about 2 years and acro yoga for 5 years so I have excellent technical detail when it comes to getting upside down! All these practices have been huge in personal development, challenging fears and facing and overcoming physical and mental barriers. It can be scary going upside down, and I feel you on that, I’ve been there, and still am with progressive acrobatic tricks! But through a supported and clear practice we can learn to trust ourselves and the ground beneath us, and soon realise that anything is possible :)
